1/2 SYN BROWNIES

If you are looking for a little cakey treat these are great for satisfying a craving. They aren’t really proper chocolate brownies, because those taste delicious fo a reason! But the whisked egg whites make these a viable Slimming World alternative if you are feeling the need to bake, and they do taste good!

Description

Very low syn chocolate brownies, lovely with fresh raspberries and some sweetened Quark or light aerosol cream

Syns: These changed to 1 syn brownies when Slimming World synned sweetener (1/2 syn per tbsp)!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 eggs (separated)
  • 70 g sweetener
  • 60 g cocoa powder (not hot chocolate)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Frylight

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180ºc, spray a baking tin with Fry Light (I used my round cake tins with the pop out bottoms, and covered the bottom with greaseproof paper/frylight)
  2. Whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
  3. In a separate bowl add the egg yolks, sweetener, vanilla essence & cocoa
  4. Whisk until mixed but you can add a bit of water if the mixture is too stiff
  5. Then fold in the egg whites
  6. Pour the mixture into the tins
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Remove from tins and divide into 16 pieces

Notes

Anchor Light aerosol spray cream is 1 syn for a 12.5g serving, and goes very well with this and some raspberries!
