1/2 SYN BROWNIES
If you are looking for a little cakey treat these are great for satisfying a craving. They aren’t really proper chocolate brownies, because those taste delicious fo a reason! But the whisked egg whites make these a viable Slimming World alternative if you are feeling the need to bake, and they do taste good!
1/2 syn brownies

Description
Very low syn chocolate brownies, lovely with fresh raspberries and some sweetened Quark or light aerosol cream
Syns: These changed to 1 syn brownies when Slimming World synned sweetener (1/2 syn per tbsp)!
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 eggs (separated)
- 70 g sweetener
- 60 g cocoa powder (not hot chocolate)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Frylight
Instructions
- Preheat the oven at 180ºc, spray a baking tin with Fry Light (I used my round cake tins with the pop out bottoms, and covered the bottom with greaseproof paper/frylight)
- Whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
- In a separate bowl add the egg yolks, sweetener, vanilla essence & cocoa
- Whisk until mixed but you can add a bit of water if the mixture is too stiff
- Then fold in the egg whites
- Pour the mixture into the tins
- Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from tins and divide into 16 pieces
Notes
Anchor Light aerosol spray cream is 1 syn for a 12.5g serving, and goes very well with this and some raspberries!
