Description
Tasty, more-ish sticky honey and garlic chicken that’s prepped in minutes using only 7 ingredients
Syns: 2 per portion
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons tomato puree
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 6 spring onions (trimmed and finely sliced)
- 6 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- handful of coriander to garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the honey, tomato puree, soy sauce, rice vinegar and measured water. Stir in the spring onions and crushed garlic.
- Pop the chicken breasts into the slow-cooker bowl, and cover with the sauce. Put the lid on.
- Cook on high for 2-3 hours, or on low for 4-5 hours, stirring half way through
- The chicken should now pull apart easily, and you can shred it into the sauce using 2 forks.
- To serve, dry-fry the sesame seeds for a couple of minutes to give them a bit of colour and a toasty flavour, and sprinkle over the top of the chicken. Scatter with the coriander leaves.
Notes
Chilli is perfect with this- drizzle with some sriracha, or sprinkle over some chopped fresh chilli.
