Description

A super-easy slow-cooker dish perfect for chilly autumn evenings and packed with goodness

Ingredients

Scale
  • 750 g approx unsmoked gammon joint, fat trimmed away
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tins cannellini beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp dark muscovado sugar
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • 1 red onion (finely diced)
  • 1 leek (trimmed and sliced)
  • 100 ml water
  • salt and pepper


Instructions

  1. Put all of the ingredients into the slow cooker (apart from the ham), and stir.
  2. Add the ham (make sure fat is trimmed away), immerse in the sauce.
  3. Cook on high for 6 hours, or low for 8-10 hours

Notes

If you want to add more veg to this there’s loads of possibilities- mushrooms, peppers, celery….
