Pesto, green bean and bacon rigatoni

This is a great quick weeknight dinner, very tasty and little effort

It’s easy to make your own pesto if you wish (recipe here but shop bought pesto tends to be relatively low syn if you don’t have the time. This is a great quick throw-together dish, but tastes lovely.


My Recipe

  • 200g rigatoni
  • 1 tbsp green pesto
  • handful green beans, ends taken off and cut in half
  • handful peeled broad beans
  • 2 rashers bacon, fat removed and finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped


  1. Cook the pasta according to packet instuctions
  2. in the meantime, fry the bacon pieces until crispy
  3. simmer the prepared beans for 3-4 minutes
  4. When the pasta's cooked, stir in the pesto, bacon and beans and season to taste
  5. Serve garnished with the chilli

Fresh peas are also lovely in this
