I love this zingy and rich barbecue sauce alongside barbecued meat and vegetables

Ingredients

- 2 onions (roughly diced)
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper
- low calorie cooking spray or spray oil (add syns if on Slimming World and using oil)
Instructions
- Fry the onions until soft and starting to brown, then add the garlic and stir fry for a couple of minutes
- Add all of the other ingredients, bring to the boil, and then simmer on low for at least 40 minutes, preferably 1 hour.
- Stir occasionally, adding a little water if starting to look too dry.
